75 - 80% Sure
The doctor said he thought I was measuring a little bigger than I should be and wanted to know if I was sure about my last period. I said yes and he said he thought I should have an ultrasound. YIPPEE!!
Everything measured right on schedule with my due date and baby's heartrate was 158. Since Chris or Grady wasn't along, I asked the ultrasound tech to put her guess as to the sex of the baby on the picture of her proof and put it in a sealed envelope. That was the longest trip home from Effingham I have ever taken.
When I got home, Chris and I opened it together and the tech was about 75 - 80% sure that Grady will be getting a baby brother!!! We are very excited (with the exception of Grady who wanted a girl so he wouldn't have to share his toys) and happy to say that 4 months has passed without incident and are looking forward to the next 5 going just as well.

Rain is a Good Thing
Being from the 'sticks,' it should not come as a surprise that my family is a country music loving one. Chris and I recently went to see Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan in concert. Great show, but that is not the point of my post.
Grady has become addicted to singing along with the radio. One of his favorite singers is Luke Bryan. Luke has a new song called Rain. I found the video on youtube so everyone could enjoy. You're welcome. Still not the point.
My point is...while driving to school this morning, it was raining. Grady and I started singing this song.
♫Rain makes corn♫
♫Corn makes whiskey♫
Me to Grady: 'What does whiskey make?'
Grady to Me: 'Whiskey makes the baby in your belly!'
Holy Moses!! I was laughing so hard. If only he knew that it absolutely could have played a part in the baby making. I sure wasn't going to tell him that though. All his class would have thought whiskey is where babies come from.

Anxious
I have always heard if a baby's heartrate is high (above 140s) it is a girl. Low (140s or below), it is a boy. Grady was always in the 140s. So this got me awful curious.
I did the ring on a string thingy. I thought the whole time...hold still, did I move that, is the back and forth for a boy or is the the circles, does this tell other baby's sex. So not convinced on gender there.
Another friend sent me an email with a little math equation to tell me boy or girl. It was a definate answer. Girl. The Chinese gender predictor calendar is a definate answer. It said boy.
This morning I went out on a limb. I boiled red cabbage and mixed the water with my pee to see if it was a boy or girl. Yes, you read that right. I saw it on the internet! It should work, right? Red/pink for boy, purple for a girl. The colors were not as distinguishable as I would have liked them to be. Again, not convinced.
At this point, I can hardly contain my excitement for this pregnancy. I want to know SO BAD if there is a baby boy or baby girl in there! Because, you know I could be buying some girl stuff if that was the case. Or, I could be dragging out Grady's things if I knew this was a boy. I guess I need a hobby or another job or something to keep my mind off of it.
I really don't know how the people who go to the delivery room not knowing do it. I would have to be on some crazy pills if I didn't find out. I want everything done and waiting on me and this baby to come home with gender specific colors ready.
Hopefully, now that I say I have to wait for an ultrasound, this little booger cooperates!!

More Vacation Highlights
- We left on Thursday morning and planned on making more than half our trip that day. We were successful and ended the day on a great note....Waffle House!!
- Apparently you must ask for napkins at McDonald's drive thrus.
- Some people think it is safe to take 6 kids in the back of a truck down the interstate.
- Grady thought it was so cool to see the airplanes going over at the Atlanta airport. WOW...that is all he said until he couldn't see anymore.
- Friday, we arrived at Chris's brother's a lot earlier than he got off work and Grady raided the old toys to keep himself entertained. A Batman trike from 1990 got quite the workout. And leave it to my child to find the only mudhole in Florida.
- Florida convenience stores are sticklers for license checking when buying alcohol. Chris had no valid license since his birthday in September (I guess I should have reminded him to renew). No valid license even though you are of age = no beer.
- Chris drove the whole way to Florida on said license.
- Great hospitality by family and friends while we were there. BBQ and sightseeing = happy visitors.
- Chris's brother is pretty newly engaged. Meeting the fiancee was great...she's a keeper!
- Grady's first trip to the ocean was so much fun. It was really cool by the water, but he splashed and played without goose bumps. Mom, not so much.
- Rain on Sunday made for an upset Chris, because we couldn't go out in the boat on the St. John's river. I was okay with it since only walking on a floating dock made me queasy.
- 'Creepers' decided to nab my car in Chris's brother's drive. They stole the DVD player from the headliner, the GPS that was borrowed, my last cell phone I had just quit using, and some change from the ashtray. On Sunday morning. Geez. How lucky am I?
- We left at 5 Monday morning. 5 am. Home by 10 pm. Very glad to be here.
- Vacation = laundry.
- I don't think I have caught up yet. And it's a holiday weekend. I may never catch up.
Although there was a downfall, we did have a great visit. Next time, with 2 kids, I think Delta or Southwest Airlines may get our money. We're kinda over the long ass drive.
