Weekend Plans

BIG Strawberry Fest in Newton this weekend!! I am hopefully attending at least the parade with Grady and his best buddy, Dawson (mom and Lexie too). I hope it doesn't rain on our parade!!

Lost!

Don't you hate it when you lose something?

I am just sick with myself. I cannot find my copy of my Grandma Ferguson's senior picture. It was with some other old family photos and now it isn't. My mom has a copy and I might have to have her scan it and email it to me. I will have to share it when/if it is found.

I am normally an organized, okay semi-organized, person. This is just irritating!! GGGRRRRR!!!

Big Catch

Grady and I went to Granny & Papa's for a cookout yesterday. He was playing by the pontoon boat and found a worm, insisting that he catch a fish with it. He did!! And 2 more after that!
Here he is with the first catch of the day. Nevermind the outfit.... He also insisted on "swimming." Which to him involves wading out as deep as you can and getting all your clothes soaked. Thank God for Papa and his flannel!!

A Hair Raising Experience

My brother bought the boys a trampoline for Christmas. Travis and I probably jump on it more than they do. I thought it would be neat to try and take my own picture while I was jumping and get one with my hair all standing up. I tried for so long to get it just the way I wanted......here's what I ended up with.

The facial expressions just crack me up!! I don't know what happens while you are mindlessly jumping, but apparently I thought I needed to open my mouth every time I got into the air!

First Date

Mr. Grady Sawman had his very first "date" with his little friend Lillian. We, along with Lilly and her parents, went to the Drive-In on Saturday night. Aren't they just the cutest little couple? Thanks Tim & Karla for the fun weekend!!

Speedy Recovery

Get Well Soon Graphics
Chris's best friend Matt Deitz had surgery to remove his appendix last weekend and is still in the hospital. He is having some issues with infection and other complications. Please keep him in your thoughts. Matt, I hope Kara (aka Nurse Goodbody) is keeping you in line!!

Lord knows somebody needs to!

Goin' Snerkelin'

Too Funny!! Grady wanted a "snerkel" so he could swim in Granny's pond and catch sharks and steal their teeth, so he says. Granny brought it to Grady and he couldn't wait to try it out!
Works in the tub too!

New Play Spot

Ever since I got a new car, Grady just loves to play in it. I caught him in the driver's seat putting on his seat belt, guess he knows the rules of the road already. I had to snap a picture. Kinda cool too with the clouds reflecting in the window too.

Go Google Yourself!

I don't know how many of you have ever played the Google game. I find it a bit entertaining.

Here's what you do....

On the Google homepage type your name followed by needs, wants, thinks etc. I found some good ones for myself. Check them out...

Aubrey needs to stop, cause it seems like anybody can get it from her.
Aubrey wants furberries!
Aubrey hates making dinner.
Aubrey feels she can outsmart the enemy.
Aubrey...is WAY cooler than you.
Aubrey thinks she can kick Sheree's ass!
Why don't you go Google yourself and find out what you really need!

Kids Say the Darndest Things

Okay, so personally I think my child is funny. This weekend he told me a couple things that just made me laugh out loud.

The first was after a battle about picking up in his room. He told me something like, "Mom, I can't pick up these things, I have a bad contact that can't see very good." I think he picked that up from Granny, who Friday had to get new contacts because she wasn't seeing very good.

The other was after scrambling out of the tub because he knew he had to go #2. "Well, I guess I don't have to go poop. It was just my imagination."

How funny is that!!

I believe this picture just about sums things up for the day!!

Bubbles

Isn't it amazing how something so simple can hold a little one's attention for so long? Grady played with bubbles with Granny today and wanted to come home and chase some more. I don't know what it is about being able to pop little soapy bubbles, but if it works, I'll go for it!!

Shout Out

She's done it again!! Amber Lindemann is a photo genius!! My nephew's girlfriend, Jenny, had her senior pictures done with Photo Graphics and they are available online for your viewing pleasure.

http://www.photographicsgallery.net/p106203510/

They are gorgeous!! And my nephew even made an appearance in a few!

Grady Who?

So, I have been asked, "What's up with the name Grady Sawman?" No, that is not my child's name. His given name is Grady Sawyer. His Papa gave him the nickname Sawman not long after he was born. It just stuck. There you have it. A short story, made into a short story!

Oh, to be a BOY!!

Don't you wish you could just let 'er fly wherever and whenever you wanted like he does??

Great Weekend!!

We enjoyed a Mother's Day "Ice Cream Social" at my Mom & Dad's pond on Saturday afternoon. My Grandma Ferguson, my Aunt & Uncle, my brother and his son, my parents and my own family were all there.
Grady & Tristan enjoying the trampoline, although not exactly using it as intended.

What a beautiful day to be outside. My Dad made homemade ice cream and the boys got to run and play. Grady even got sunburnt! I am so thankful for the time I have with my family and hope for many more fun days like we had Saturday!

A Day Out

I know he won't read this, but a BIG "Thank You" to Uncle Trav for watching Grady today. I am going shopping all by myself and Grady is going to play with his little cousin Tristan.

I hated to ask him to watch Grady because he gets so little time with his own son, but Grady is always asking, "When is Tristan coming over?" So, that will be great for the both of them. Hell, all three of them. Travis needs to pay me back for all the babysitting I've done for him!

A Day Out, all alone.....I don't know, I could get lonely!! But, I do know that I'm NOT eating at McDonald's!!

BTW - I know the picture has some kinda terrible glare, but it was the most recent I had of the two boys that had them posed together!

Jesse White is NOT Nice!

A couple of weeks ago, I traded in my gas-guzzling Ford truck for a less fuel hungry Pontiac Grand Prix. As getting a new vehicle goes, I applied for personalized plates. I feel like that was some kind of right of passage, if you will, to getting your license and driving your own vehicle.

Well......Jesse White now says I can't have my choice of personalized plates. Damn it!!

Now, I guess I will be the one in the Wal-Mart parking lot looking for her vehicle because her license plates don't have her name on them!!

Suspenders or bust!

Grady's newest obsession of the moment is wanting a pair of suspenders. He has a lumberjack movie and all the lumberjacks wear suspenders. Does anyone have a clue where to get a child's pair?? My dad suggested the Amish, but I really don't want him to look Amish. Or like this poor child with hi-waters either!!

Happy Cinco De Mayo!

Here's to Chips & Salsa, Guacamole, Tacos, Burritos, Enchiladas, Chimichangas, all that Mexican Crap!! Thank You, I mean Gracias, to all you Illegal Alien Mexicans for making me a more worldly person in the kitchen!!

One of my new favorite shows

I don't know how many people know this, but I have one of the most un-girly jobs on earth. I work for my dad in his sawmill. I know, I know... oh my!!

I am currently in love with this show on The History Channel. It is about groups of loggers in Oregon who brave the elements to do their jobs on a daily basis. Logging is one of the most deadly jobs on earth.

If you're interested in seeing what these guys go through to get their logs to sawmills like my dad's, check them out on Sunday nights.

Haircut

My son needed a haircut terribly! He was getting pretty shaggy. Here is a before and an after. It is for sure a summertime 'do!

Here Goes Nothing!

Okay, so it's no secret. I have an addiction to reading other people's blogs. I cannot get enough. I work with my dad and brother, therefore, I hear nothing but manly things all day. Aside from lunchtime when I get to see my mother and my son.

So, I have jumped on the bandwagon! I am now a BLOGGER!! Not just a wannabe, a real life Blogger.

Now, I may need help because I am a little bit internet retarded, but I promise to try to keep up with the Joneses!
